MARL, Germany, Feb. 5, 2024 – Effective per January 1, 2024, Dr. Gerd Wollermann has been appointed as a Managing Director of Vestolit GmbH, Marl, Germany. 

Dr. Wollermann is assuming the role previously held by Dr. Michael Beziel, who served as a Managing Director alongside Dr. Oliver Kretschmann and Nick Ballas and is planning to retire in June 2024. Dr. Oliver Kretschmann, Head of Business Unit Specialty Resins at Orbia Polymer Solutions (Vestolit) and Nick Ballas, Executive Vice President & President, Orbia Polymer Solutions (Vestolit), will continue to serve as Managing Directors alongside Wollermann.  

In addition to his new responsibilities as a Managing Director, Wollermann will also assume the role of Head of Operations for Orbia Polymer Solutions (Vestolit) in Germany. “The health and safety of our employees is our highest priority. Wollermann has served as Head of Production/Technology Monomers at Orbia Polymer Solutions (Vestolit) since 2018. Previously, he held various roles in production, logistics and management in international chemical companies in Germany and the U.K and has deep experience in steering transformation projects across Europe, the United States, Saudi Arabia and China. His academic background includes a degree in chemistry from the Universities of Marburg (Germany) and Bristol (U.K.) and a PhD in organic chemistry. In addition, he has completed management training through programs at IMD in Switzerland, INSEAD in France/Singapore and Maastricht University in the Netherlands.
